Emma Holland didn't expect a reply after she sent an anonymous email to her favorite author letting him know how much his books have meant to her, but Alden Fisher surprised her. He didn't just write back, he wanted to get to know her better.
Fearful that a handsome, successful man like Alden could never be interested in a geeky fangirl like her, Emma created a fake profile to impress him. But as their relationship grew into an intimate, passionate online romance, Emma's guilt grew as well, and when her shame became too great she disappeared from social media.
But Emma is about to discover that Alden is not content to let her write the ending to this story. He is determined not only to show Emma that he fell in love with the woman behind the profile, but to give her the correction and dominance he knows she both needs and craves.
He tracks Emma down and soon she is lying over his knee for the intense, painful spanking she has needed for so long.
Though she is shocked by Alden's sudden return to her life, his firm discipline and loving guidance give Emma confidence she has never had before, and being claimed properly by him at last is better than she ever dreamed. But when a secret from his past threatens to tarnish Alden's reputation, will the ensuing scandal destroy the bond Emma has built with the man who changed her life first with his books and then with his belief in her?
Publisher's Note Mastering the Fangirl includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Mastering the Fangirl edition by Ava Sinclair Literature Fiction eBooks
I fully confess to being a peruser of delightfully naughty tales and to be honest this author under either of her pen names Ava Sinclair or Elsa Black, routinely knocks my socks off. So when I had the opportunity to read and review this newest work, I jumped (armed with fresh socks ready to be knocked off) at the chance.Within the first two pages I knew this was going to be amazing. The characters were immediately relatable and easily envisioned. The Delicious sexual tones of the book start very early, and while I personally love that, could deserve a little warning for some of those meeker individuals. But as I read, even during the blushing portions where you look over your shoulder to make sure your nearest neighbor can't see what you're up to, there was a quality to the writing in this one that threatened to blow off more than my socks.
In addition to being naughty, I am a fiend for description, grammar, and fluidity. I have an affinity for real and relatable dialogue between characters. This book was a wonderful balance between grace, fine writing and kinky fuckery. I will recommend this to every dirty lady I know.
Sexy books for clever women indeed.

Mastering the Fangirl edition by Ava Sinclair Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
It was nice. Not my favorite but a lovely story.
Ava Sinclair writes great books and this one is one of her best. I loved the characters and the story. You simply must read this book well worth the time.
Emma reads a book with a character that calls to her. She feels the characters angst, it matches her own, so she writes the author to tell him how his book touched her. He writes back and a relationship forms. I enjoyed the story but was disappointed with how quickly their relationship and their problems were solved. Good premise but too short and no depth. 3.5 stars
This was surprising to me. I guess when I pictured how this story was going to go it never happened like this. I am a HUGE fan of backbones and even if it takes a while to get one I will always jump for joy. This was a great book. Unrealistic , but hey isn't that what these books are? It was a good quick read and had a good ending, that showed courage and strength.
First off, let me just say if you are going to read this, you may want to have something to cool you down sitting nearby. However that may look for you. Because this book is quite steamy hot!
It starts with our heroine Emma engaging in an online relationship with author Alden Fisher. She craves his dominance, but when it starts to get too real for her, she disappears from his life. Lucky for her, he manages to track her down and surprise her. He wants to continue where they left off, and uses some underhanded means to get her to agree.
But a jealous co-worker and an ex of his manage to throw a wrench in the works that might just derail their relationship.
I loved this book a whole lot! The sex scenes were positively so smoking hot I needed to fan myself! I loved how Alden stood up for Emma and how he boosted her confidence, he's what every man should be like, especially dominants. And both of them are broken in their own ways, especially Emma, but they manage to be each other's support in such a wonderful way. This book is definitely a keeper!
This was an enjoyable read. This book fills a strange in-between place, not quite a very short, hot little read and not quite long enough to be a well-developed novel. The plot was good. I liked that Alden was a handsome and successive dominant yet he was shy and quite private at the same time. Nice and rather original mix for a hero. I liked Emma as the insecure submissive which is not a particularly original characterization but still one that I generally like.
The problem I had was the lack of development of their relationship. We just did not see it at all. The book was just a bit too long to leave out so much. Spoiler alert I also did not find it believable or endearing that Emma breaks up with Alden just when he needs her the most in my opinion. I did not feel right that she suddenly wanted to try being strong on her own. It felt discordant and wrong. Emma should have shown her strength by standing proudly at his side and weathering the controversy. I also did not believe the sudden change of heart in Sherry, the villain in the story. Sherry suddenly wants forgiveness and wants to actually help Emma? Yeah, right. Then suddenly we skip forward 2 years to a rushed HEA. Like I said not enough character development for me to be invested. It was too bad because this book the potential to be really great I think. It needed to either be shorter and even more over the top or longer with more development of the characters and their relationship. I think there is a reason most books are not in-between like this.
I was given a copy by the author and I voluntarily reviewed this book (but I had to purchase it, as it is imperative to support your favorite authors).
I loved this book. Emma has been damaged by her past and Alden's writing has helped her cope with her life. The fact that Alden actually fell for the woman and not the facade during their brief long distance relationship just made him more perfect. With Alden's guidance, Emma blooms into the person that she has been hiding. Even though their relationship deepens through the course of the book, Emma still has those little doubts about herself. All through the story you can see Alden's desire to love and protect Emma. There is a twist with one of the characters that totally came as a surprise and made the story even better. The author did a fantastic job with bringing these characters to life and giving them a great story. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
